Matera Builders installs Andersen windows and doors throughout Sea Isle City, New Jersey. We are an Andersen Elite Certified Contractor — a designation held by roughly the top 1% of Andersen contractors nationwide — and a Therma-Tru Certified Installer. We have been replacing windows and doors on the South Jersey shore since 1988, working out of 601 Bay Avenue in Ocean City. Call 609-391-0429 for a free written estimate.

Sea Isle City sits on Ludlam Island with the Atlantic on one side and Ludlam Bay on the other. There is no inland here. Every house in town takes salt air from at least one direction, and the houses on Pleasure Avenue and along the bayfront take it from both.
That exposure is what actually drives window replacement in this town, and it shows up in three distinct waves of housing stock:
Homes from the post-1962 rebuild. A large share of Sea Isle was rebuilt after the Ash Wednesday storm, which means original windows in those houses are now well past their service life. Wood frames that have been repainted a dozen times, sashes that no longer seal, hardware seized by salt.
Homes from the 1990s and 2000s replacement wave. The vinyl and aluminum units installed a generation ago are now failing themselves — blown seals, chalked frames, sliders that will not slide.
Elevated and rebuilt homes. A significant portion of the island has been lifted or rebuilt to current flood elevation requirements. Height means more wind exposure, and reframed openings that need to be measured, not assumed. If your windows fog between the panes, stick in August humidity, or leak air you can feel in a February northeaster, the frames are telling you the same thing.

We specify the line to the exposure and the budget, not the other way around.

Andersen 100 Series — Made from Fibrex composite. Does not rot, warp, or need repainting, and holds dark exterior colors without fading the way vinyl does. The value-forward choice for rental properties and full-house replacements where the budget is real.

Andersen 400 Series — Wood interior with a low-maintenance exterior. The long-running Andersen workhorse and the most common choice for Sea Isle homes where the owner wants a warm interior look.

Andersen A-Series — Architectural line with a Fibrex-clad exterior over a wood core. Widest range of exterior colors, hardware finishes, and coastal glass packages. This is where we go for oceanfront and bayfront exposures and for homes where the windows are part of the design.

Andersen E-Series — Aluminum-clad wood, custom sizes and effectively unlimited exterior colors. For non-standard openings and for homeowners matching an existing architectural detail.

Coastal hardware and glass. For direct oceanfront and bayfront exposures we specify hardware finishes rated for salt, and impact-rated glazing where the property requires it. We confirm requirements with the Sea Isle City construction office before anything is ordered.
Windows are most of what we do, but the openings that change how a Sea Isle house feels are usually doors.
Andersen patio and big doors. MultiGlide, bifold, liftslide, and pivot doors — the moving glass walls that open a bayfront living room onto the deck. Big door installation is where Elite certification matters most, because these units are unforgiving of a bad install. See our big doors →
Therma-Tru entry doors. As a Therma-Tru Certified Installer we install their fiberglass entry systems, which hold up to salt air far better than wood front doors on a barrier island. See our entry doors →
1. Free written estimate. We come to the house, measure every opening, look at the framing and the exposure, and give you an itemized written estimate. No charge and no obligation.
2. Product selection. We walk you through the line, the glass package, the hardware, and the exterior color, with real pricing attached to each choice so you can see the trade-offs.
3. Permits and ordering. We handle the Sea Isle City permitting. Andersen builds to order, so plan on several weeks between signed contract and install date.
4. Installation. Our own crews, not day labor. We protect floors and landscaping, haul the old units away, and flash and seal every opening for coastal exposure.
5. Follow-up. Final walkthrough with you, and a real phone number to call afterward. Our Customer Care Center handles service on everything we install. Customer Care Center →
We schedule around rental turnover. Tell us your booking calendar and we will work to it.
Andersen certifies contractors in tiers. Elite is the top tier, held by roughly the top 1% of Andersen contractors nationwide.
Earning it takes documented installation training, verified licensing and insurance, and a sustained customer satisfaction record that Andersen audits on an ongoing basis. It is not a sticker you buy.
What it means for you as a homeowner: the crew in your house has been trained and audited by the manufacturer, and your Andersen warranty is backed by an installation performed to Andersen's own standard. A window is only as good as the opening it is set into, and a warranty claim on a badly installed unit is a fight you do not want.
